Emotional Strings - Make Your Music Come Alive

Here's How It Works

Step 1:

Vision

My first goal is always to make sure that our vision for the project is aligned. I have found that the best way to make that happen is by having a conversation. I'll be curious to know things like:

  • What your goals for the project?
  • What emotions are you trying to convey?
  • What references are you trying to emulate?​
    ​

Getting to know you and answering some of these will help to ensure that we get your song where it needs to go.

Step 2:

Recording

My process doesn’t separate the arranging and recording stages. I will sit down with your song and the notes from our conversation and start playing.

It’s iterative, emotional, imperfect, and I’ve found it to be the most reliable way to get the best out of your song.

Step 3:

Delivery

Once I think your arrangement is ready, I’ll send over the files. This will include:

​

  • A “Rough Mix" that is just the string arrangement laid over the track you sent
  • The mixed string arrangement in isolation (both wet and dry) that you can drop into your session
  • Stems to dive in with more detail and control.
    ​

If at this point you’re as happy with the results as I am, then we’re done!​

If for any reason what I’ve sent you isn’t resonating yet, then we will discuss notes and I’ll get the strings to match your vision.
